Through a series of fun and interactive role-play activities, students will explore how to recognise when someone may be struggling and build their confidence in having supportive conversations with friends and peers. This rotation is designed to normalise help-seeking, strengthen peer support and demonstrate that checking in on someone doesn’t have to be awkward or complicated.

In a world full of distractions, learning how to slow down and connect with ourselves is more important than ever. Through a combination of mindfulness, deep breathing and self-reflection activities, students will explore practical ways to regulate emotions, manage stress and reconnect with their thoughts, feelings and personal needs. This rotation encourages participants to appreciate the value of slowing down and taking care of themselves.

Stigma continues to be one of the greatest barriers preventing people from seeking support and speaking openly about their wellbeing. In this highly engaging activity, students will identify and explore common myths, stereotypes and stigmas surrounding mental ill-health before coming together to smash, yes literally smash, stigma away from their school community in our unforgettable Stigma Piñata rotation.

Young people have powerful ideas, valuable perspectives and an important role to play in creating positive change. This rotation provides students with an opportunity to share what matters most to them, particularly in relation to wellbeing, belonging and school culture. Working together, participants will develop messages of strength, hope and positive action while discovering the impact their voices can have on the communities around them.

Physical activity plays an important role in our overall health and wellbeing, while also creating opportunities for meaningful connection. This high-energy rotation combines movement, teamwork and conversation to demonstrate how physical activity can support mental wellbeing and strengthen relationships. Students will work up a sweat while engaging in discussions that encourage reflection, connection and peer support.

Every community contains behaviours that strengthen belonging and behaviours that break it. Through a powerful and thought-provoking activity, students will explore the ripple effects of bullying, exclusion, gossip, judgement and other behaviours that negatively impact individuals and communities. By examining these experiences through different perspectives, participants develop greater empathy, understanding and awareness of the role they play in creating a culture where everyone feels welcomed, valued and included.

Emotional intelligence is one of the most important life skills young people can develop. Through creative, interactive and often hilarious activities, students will explore a range of emotional states and experiment with both healthy and unhealthy ways of expressing them. This rotation helps participants build greater self-awareness, emotional regulation and resilience while transforming their relationship with emotions.

Turn to Me believes modern society has much to learn from a culture that has sustained healthy and connected communities for over 80,000 years. This rotation explores First Nations perspectives on wellbeing, connection, relationships and community through engaging activities and discussion. Students will discover practical values, practices and ways of thinking that can positively influence their own wellbeing and relationships today.

At the heart of the Beyond The Bell experience is the creation of a Community of Care. In this culminating rotation, students will work together to define the values, behaviours and commitments they believe should shape their school community. Participants will identify what helps people feel welcomed, respected, supported and connected while creating a shared vision for the kind of environment they want to be part of. Together, they will construct a Community of Care that they can honour, uphold and take pride in.
