IGNITE IMPACT KEYNOTE
A heartfelt, engaging and transformational keynote exploring mental health, wellbeing, suicide prevention and the role community plays in shaping human experience.
A KEYNOTE WITH HEART. Â
Turn to Me's IGNITE IMPACT keynote is a heartfelt, engaging and transformational experience that combines powerful lived experience storytelling, practical wellbeing strategies and a fresh perspective on mental health, wellbeing and the role community plays in shaping human experience.
Suitable for workplaces, schools, conferences, sporting clubs and community organisations, this keynote invites audiences into a deeply human conversation about adversity, resilience, connection and hope. Through honesty, vulnerability and powerful storytelling, founder Will Austin shares the life-defining experiences that inspired the creation of Turn to Me and transformed his understanding of mental health, suicide prevention and the importance of community.
Drawing on personal experiences of mental ill-health, suicidal ideation, family suicide attempts and suicide loss, Will challenges audiences to look beyond statistics, labels and awareness campaigns and reconnect with the human realities behind them. His story serves as a powerful reminder that mental health does not exist in isolation, but is shaped by the experiences, relationships, environments and communities that surround us every day.
At the heart of the keynote is Turn to Me's Social Experience Model—a powerful framework that encourages audiences to think differently about wellbeing by recognising the significant influence social experiences have on how people feel, cope, connect and thrive.
Rather than viewing mental health solely through an individual lens, the model explores the interconnected role of relationships, communities, systems and culture in shaping our lives.
While the keynote explores the powerful influence of our social experiences, audiences are also equipped with practical tools and reflections that support their own wellbeing, strengthen their relationships and build confidence in supporting those around them.
Throughout the keynote, audiences are encouraged to reflect on these ideas in the context of their own lives, gaining practical insights to better understand their wellbeing, strengthen relationships, navigate challenges and contribute to healthier, more connected communities.
Those in attendance leave with a renewed sense of hope, a deeper understanding of the role connection plays in wellbeing, and practical tools they can apply in everyday life. From recognising the different dimensions of wellbeing to strengthening support networks and identifying simple actions that foster connection, participants leave feeling equipped to make a meaningful difference within themselves and the communities they are part of.
IGNITE IMPACT is more than a keynote about mental health.
It is an invitation to see people differently, understand community differently and recognise the powerful role we all play in shaping the experiences of those around us.

MEET WILL AUSTIN
Will Austin is the Founder and Lead Facilitator of Turn to Me, a mental health promotion and suicide prevention charity creating Communities of Care across Australia.
For nearly 15 years, Will has worked across mental health, suicide prevention, men's wellbeing, family violence prevention, community development and systems change. Throughout his career, he has partnered with schools, workplaces, government and community organisations to design and facilitate initiatives that strengthen wellbeing, build connection and create lasting social impact.
Over six years with the Foundation for Young Australians, Will delivered workshops, camps and leadership programs that empowered young people to build confidence, strengthen their leadership and create positive change in their communities. He also spent five years with YLab Global, a leading social enterprise specialising in co-design and systems change, where he led projects nationwide alongside schools, government and community organisations to develop innovative responses to complex social challenges.
Over time, this work has evolved into leading his own social impact organisations, working alongside regional and remote communities, sporting clubs, community service providers, correctional facilities, workplaces and corporate organisations across Australia. Although the settings have been diverse, the purpose has remained constant: to strengthen wellbeing, foster meaningful connection and create healthier, more connected communities for all Australians.
Known for his authenticity, warmth and ability to connect with diverse audiences, Will creates engaging environments where people feel safe to contribute, reflect and have meaningful conversations that matter. He combines compelling storytelling with practical insight to inspire hope, deepen understanding and encourage meaningful action.
At the heart of Will's work is a simple belief: mental health and wellbeing are not shaped in isolation. They are shaped through the experiences we have, the relationships we build and the communities we create together. That belief continues to guide every keynote, workshop and conversation he facilitates.
